1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MeterVision ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

2. Description of Service

MeterVision is a cloud-based utility meter reading and management platform that provides:

  • Mobile meter reading capture with AI-powered OCR
  • NFC-based fraud prevention and audit trails
  • Automated report generation and invoice creation
  • Consumption analytics and anomaly detection
  • Multi-tenant property management tools

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

4. Subscription and Payment

  • Free trials are available for 14 days with no credit card required
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected
  • Prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable
  • We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' written notice

5. Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you upload to or create within the Service, including meter readings, photographs, property information, and reports. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data.

You grant us a limited licence to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorised persons

7. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% platform uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance. The mobile app's offline mode ensures field operations continue during connectivity disruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, MeterVision shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate the subscription with 30 days' written notice. Upon termination, you may request an export of your data within 30 days, after which we may delete it. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, and documentation, is the intellectual property of MeterVision. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Mpumalanga, South Africa.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
